We had the opportunity to exhibit at the IDTechEx 2019 Show in Berlin to show why Orion AM's technology is better at 3D printing with high-performance polymers like PEEK.

Orion's patent-pending technology applies thermal radiation to the material during the printing process in order to anneal thermal stresses, improve crystallinity and also improve the inter-layer bonding of printed parts.

PEEK MATERIAL

PEEK (poly-ether-ether-ketone) is a high strength, temperature resistant, chemically resistant, inert thermoplastic used in a wide range of engineering applications ranging from aerospace and medical. It is also used as a lightweight substitute to replace metals parts for mass reduction.

Orion AM's patent-pending Thermal Radiation Heating technology helps get the most benefit from these material properties by increasing interlayer bonding and crystallinity. This results in high strength parts for end-use applications.
